CBIZ Adventure sports: Experts in Adventure & Insurance

The team at CBIZ Adventure Sports began its commitment to the adventure sports and outfitters industry in 1979. Our own personal engagement in outdoor recreation activities led us to create this insurance program, offered through CBIZ Adventure Sports.

What started with four outfitters in Idaho has grown to thousands of outfitters in all 50 states. We insure businesses offering camping, dude ranches, yurts, charter boat excursions, canoeing, kayaking, white water rafting, fishing, big game hunting, horse rides, jet boats, snow cats, snowmobiles, ATVs, UTVs, Heli skiing, and even llama trekking. In 2014, the agency merged with CBIZ, one of the nation’s leading providers of financial, benefits and insurance services. The merger allows CBIZ Sattler Adventure Sports to offer clients additional tools and product offerings.

Our dedication to and involvement in the industry remains strong today. From testifying at state judiciary sessions on behalf of outfitters and guides, to speaking and exhibiting at industry association meetings and events, we are committed to supporting your industry. This engagement allows us to keep up with trends to help you proactively manage any additional risk as a result of industry changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the costs?

Many factors go into calculating the cost of coverage for your unique business, such as the type of business, risk, location and more. The best way to determine the right coverage and its cost is to talk to one of our experts.

What is the difference between a Certificate of Insurance and Additional Insured?

Certificate of Insurance

A Certificate of Insurance documents insurance coverage that is in effect, and identifies specific dates of coverage by line of business. It shows coverage was in force at a certain point in time, and notes the carrier and limits covered for each line of business. The certificate is provided to document that a business is insured.

Additional Insureds

An additional insured extends liability insurance coverage beyond the named insured to include other individuals or groups, such as a property manager. An additional insured endorsement protects the additional insured under the named insurer's policy allowing them to file a claim if sued.

Should I insure my equipment under Inland Marine or Business Personal Property?

Your equipment (rafts, oars, life jackets, wet suits, tack, snowmobiles, UTVs etc.) can be insured in two different manners.

Inland Marine covers your equipment when it is anywhere in the world.

Business Personal Property covers your equipment when it is in a designated building, such as a boathouse.

Because of the broader coverage provided by Inland Marine, the pricing is generally higher.  We can insure your equipment either as Inland Marine, Business Personal Property or a combination of the two.
